Kasugaya ( Jap. 春日 井 市 Kasugai-si ) is a special city in Japan , located in the northern part of Aichi Prefecture on the eastern bank of the Sakai River. It was founded on June 1, 1943 by merging the village of Katigava and the villages of Torimatsu, Sinoga and Takaki of Higasikasugai County. Flag
The flag of the city artistically displayed the meaning of its name. In the literal translation of "Kasugai" means "well of spring light (the sun)." Therefore, the flag depicts sakura as a symbol of spring. And in the flower there is a well with the sun reflected in it (a red rectangle with a white circle inside).

One of the picturesque corners of the city is Otiai Park ( Jap. 落 合 公園 ) . During the flowering of cherry blossoms, the park becomes a lively center for meetings and recreation.
