History
The decision to build a new multifunctional concert hall in Zagreb was made in 1957 . The project of the future building was developed by a group of architects under the direction of Marijana Haberle . Construction work began in 1961 , but the flood in Zagreb in 1964 and the financial difficulties that ensued from the city authorities delayed the completion of construction by almost a decade. The opening of the hall could take place only on September 29, 1973 . [2]
In 1990, the Eurovision Song Contest was held in the hall. For its successful implementation, the first reconstruction of the building was made. In 1992, the roof was completely replaced. [3] Also, works on partial reconstruction and replacement of interiors were carried out in 1999 and 2009 . [4] [5]
