Margarita Vladimirovna Pesotskaya ( Ukrainian Margarita Volodimirіvna Pesotsky ; born August 9, 1991 , Kiev ) is a Ukrainian athlete, table tennis player , international master of sports of Ukraine .

In juniors and cadets

Margarita was born in a sports family (mother - Margarita Pesotskaya Sr.). Rita started playing table tennis from the age of three in Poland , where her mother was playing at that time. First, in Krakow, she beat her peers. At the age of 7, she became the champion of Poland among mini-cadets, winning many children's tournaments. At 10, the family returned to Kiev . Margarita wins the Ukrainian championships three times in a row in her age category. At 11, Margarita becomes a master of sports and makes her international debut in Moscow at the Cadet European Championship. In 2004, he won a pair at the European Cadet Championship in Budapest . In 2005 in Ostrava receives silver in a mixed double. In 2006, in Sarajevo Margarita won 3 gold medals: single, pair and team. Now she is already a junior and in 2008 in Ternia repeats the success of 2006 , but now at the European Championship among juniors she won three gold medals (single, couple and team). At sixteen, Margarita receives the title of master of sports of international class . In 2009 Margarita defended her title in Prague .

In professionals

From the age of 14, Margarita has been a member of the adult national team of Ukraine. In 2006 Margarita entered the first line of the Ukrainian rating. [3] Since 2006, as a member of the Ukrainian national team, she has been performing at adult European and world championships. In 2008, Margarita became a participant in the Beijing Olympic Games . In the first round in 5 games, Pesotskaya lost to Zhu Fan from Spain.

In October 2009, a couple of months after winning the Prague Junior European Championship in Prague, Margarita went to the adult European Championship in Stuttgart . Here she makes a sensation: having walked along almost all the strongest rivals (14, 20, 5, 1, 10) [4] she stops one step away from repeating the achievement of the junior championship. Margarita wins the silver medal in singles and becomes the youngest medalist in the history of European championships [5] . This medal became the first medal for independent Ukraine in official table tennis competitions among adults.

In 2011, Margarita won the bronze medal in singles at the European Championships in Sopot - Gdansk [6] . In 2012, the athlete participates in the Olympic Games in London . In singles in the third round, Pesotskaya lost in 4 games to 39-year-old Li Jiao from the Netherlands.

In 2014, in an interview, Margarita said that she refused the Russian citizenship offered to her [7] .

Club career

She played for the Alchevsk club Donbass-ShVSM, with whom she became the champion of Ukraine [8] . In the 2009 season , Margarita played for the Russian club Dalenergosetproekt from Vladivostok . In its composition in 2009, she won the silver medal of the Russian Championship, the Cup of Russia and the bronze medal of the European Champions League [9] . In 2010, as part of the same Dalenergosetproekt, he became the winner of the Russian team championship. And in 2011, as part of the already Moscow club "Victoria" became the owner of a silver medal in the championship of Russia. In the 2011/12 season, Margarita won the silver medal of the ETTU Cup as part of the Dalenergosetproekt team .
