Somalia Transitional Federal Government

The Transitional Federal Government of Somalia ( Somal. Dowladda federaalka kumeelgaarka ) is the internationally recognized government of the Somali Republic . It existed until August 20, 2012, as one of the transitional authorities described in the Transitional Federal Charter of Somalia, adopted in November 2004 in the Kenyan capital , Nairobi, by the Transitional Federal Parliament of Somalia . The transitional government enjoyed the support of the United Nations , African Union and the United States . In fact, it controlled only the capital - Mogadishu . Typically, in journalism, the Federal Transitional Government refers to the entire set of transitional government bodies created in 2004.

The Transitional Federal Government of Somalia was an executive body led by the country's president, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed . The president was elected by parliament. In turn, the president appointed the prime minister, who was the liaison between the president and cabinet ministers. The official website of the government lists 39 of its ministries [1] .
