Name Etymology
The name Burmot is a Russified form of the Komi named Burmort , meaning "good man."
Annals
According to the Vychegod-Vym Chronicle, Burmot participated in the defense of Perm the Great as one of the 5 governors of the Perm Prince Mikhail Ermolaevich during the Cherdynsky campaign of the Moscow forces under the leadership of the old-Dubu Prince Fedor Pestroy in 1472 .
Land tenure
According to the assumption of the Permian historian G.A. Bordinsky, Burmot was a representative of the Komi-Permian tribal aristocracy ( exaem ) and hereditarily controlled part of the territory of the Great Perm Principality with the center in the town of Pokche .
