Orthomyxoviruses

Orthomyxoviruses [2] ( Latin Orthomyxoviridae ) is a family of RNA- containing viruses from the order of Articulavirales . The diameter of the virus particles 80-120 nm. The nucleus is capsid helical, enclosed in a lipoprotein membrane. They contain 7–8 single-stranded linear RNA fragments (total mol. M. 5,000,000). Virionic RNA is non-infectious and complementary to messenger RNA. They reproduce in the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cells of birds and mammals; ripen by budding on the plasma membrane of cells. Distributed without a carrier. It affects the respiratory organs. Typical representatives are influenza viruses ( Influenza A — D virus ).
