Biography
Born in the family of hereditary honorary citizen Alexander Konstantinovich Lebedev.
In 1903 he graduated from the Soligalichsky Theological College and the Kostroma Theological Academy . He entered the Kazan Veterinary Institute . During this period, Alexander was greatly influenced by communication with the Rev. Gabriel Sedmiiezernym (Zyryanov) , who blessed Alexander on a monastic path. So, in 1908, after graduating from a veterinary institute, A. A. Lebedev became a novice in the Zosimov deserts of the Vladimir province.
In March 1915, he was tonsured with the name Agathon . Shortly after shearing, he fell ill with an infectious disease that caused a complication of parkinsonism .
In 1918, he was ordained hierodeacon by Bishop Theodore (Pozdeevsky) .
In 1920, he was ordained hieromonk by His Holiness Patriarch Tikhon in the Trinity Church of the Patriarchal Compound in Moscow.
After the closure of the Zosimov desert, with the blessing of the old man hieroschimonach Alexy (Solovyov), he moved to Moscow and settled in the Vysoko-Petrovsky monastery , whose governor was appointed in 1924 with the elevation to the rank of archimandrite .
Arrest, exile and demise
Rev. Martyr Ignatius died on September 11, 1938 in a forced labor colony near the city of Alatyr, Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .

Canonization
He was counted among the holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia for general church veneration by the decision of the Holy Synod on the canonization of New Martyrs and Confessors of December 27, 2000.
Memorial Day: August 30 / September 12 and in the Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia .
