History

The city was again taken by the Spaniards in March 1705, but in 1713 it was returned to Portugal under the Utrecht Peace Treaty . But the persistent struggle for the possession of Colonia del Sacramento did not stop and in the future the city passed from hand to hand many times, until in the end it was not left to the Spaniards.
