Origin of title
The name is given in the village of Cherkizovo , which has been known since 1378 and which bore the name of Prince Serkiz (Cherkiz). Tsarevich arrived from the Golden Horde , adopted Orthodoxy, and entered the service of Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy . At baptism, the prince received this name. When in May 1917 new borders of Moscow were approved, Cherkizovo fell into the city limits. Over time, Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya Street , Malaya Cherkizovskaya Street , 12 number Cherkizovsky streets and 5 number Cherkizovsky side streets formed on the place of the village. To our time, of these numbered streets, the original name remained only for Third Cherkizovskaya Street .
