Lake County is the county of Florida in the United States of America . For the year 2000, lived in it 210 528 people. According to the US Census Bureau, in 2008 the county’s population was 307 243 people. [1] The district center is the city of Tavares .

History
Lake County was formed in 1887 from parts of Sumter and Orange counties . It owes its name to numerous lakes located on its territory ( English lake - lake). Within the county there are approximately 1,400 lakes with a name.
Also on Lake County is Mount Sugarloaf, the highest point (95 m above sea level) of the Florida Peninsula.
