Content
History
It has been known since 1894 as the Nelepovsky farm (Ukrainian: Nelіpіvsky). In July 1905, the miners of the Nelepovsky mine (later the Artyom mine ) went on strike , in which more than 100 miners took part. In April 1916, more than 5 thousand workers went on strike at the Nelepovsky mine. Soviet power was established in 1917, drummer M. I. Dubova was elected chairman of the council of workers' deputies [3] .
In April 1920 Artyom arrived ( F.A. Sergeev ), who called on the miners of the Nelepovo mine to take part in the restoration of the Central mine. After the death of Artyom, the mine was renamed Artyom mine, and in 1921 the farm itself was renamed in honor of Artyom . The status of the city of Artyomovo ( Ukrainian Artemovo) was received in 1938 .
October 28, 1941, Soviet authorities and troops left the city occupied by German troops. [4] , [5]
September 5, 1943 freed from Nazi German troops by the Soviet troops of the Southern Front during the Donbass operation : [4]

About 3 thousand Artyomovites took part in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, 1217 of them died, 1648 fighters were awarded orders and medals [3] . In 1960, 2 monuments were erected on the mass graves of fallen soldiers - in the courtyard of secondary school No. 13 and near the building of the House of Culture.
May 19, 2016 the Verkhovna Rada renamed the city of Artyomovo Zaliznoe [7] .

Since the 1970 census, the population of the city has almost halved (population decline is one of the highest in Ukraine): people are leaving because the choice of jobs is small.
Economics
Coal mining (Mine named after Artyom GP “ Toretskugol ” - closed). More than 50% of those employed in the national economy work in the coal industry - at the Yuzhnaya mine (GP Toretskugol ), located in the town of Pivdennoye. At the industrial site of the closed mine to them. Artyom plans to create an enterprise “Dzerzhinskoekoenergoresurs” with a technological complex for the processing of carbon-containing waste from the sludge tanker at the Dzerzhinskaya processing plant. On the basis of useful components extracted from the waste, high-quality briquettes for thermal power plants and coal concentrate KZh for coke chemistry will be produced.
Transport
The city is located 6 km from the railway station Magdalinovka Donetsk railway . Until the early 2000s, trolleybus route No. 1 of the city of Toretsk (at that time - Dzerzhinsk) passed through the city. Now Zheleznoye and Toretsk are connected by fixed-route taxis .
