Characteristics
11 Ursa Minor belongs to the class of orange giants , the old stars, descended from the main sequence according to the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram . In the process of thermonuclear fusion, such stars practically produced all hydrogen and are practically at the last stage of stellar evolution . 11 Ursa Minor is much larger than the Sun (the radius is almost 24 times the Sun's radius ), but its mass is almost the same - 1.8 solar masses. [2]
Planetary system
In 2009, a group of astronomers announced the discovery of a massive object in the system - candidate for exoplanets 11 Little Bear b . [2] The object is drawn at a distance of 1.54 a. e. from the parent star, making a full turn in 516 days . Its mass is determined to be approximately 10.5 masses of Jupiter.
