Biography and Creativity

Born in Moscow in a family of musicians. Father is the outstanding violin master Alexander Alekseevich Krylov, mother is the famous pianist and teacher Lyudmila Borisovna Krylova.

He began to study the violin at the age of five; a year later he gave his first concert. At ten years old, already being a pupil of S.I. Kravchenko and A.Kh.Stern at the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory , debuted with the orchestra and began performing in Russia, China , Poland , Finland and Germany . At the age of sixteen, together with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Saulius Sondeckis, he recorded a record at Melody , as well as a number of programs for Soviet radio and television . At eighteen, the musician received the first prize at the International Competition. Rodolfo Lipitsera in Gorizia (Italy), after which he began his studies with Salvatore Accardo at the Walter Stauffer Academy. The young violinist gained wide fame after he was awarded the first prize at the competition to them. Antonio Stradivari in Cremona and first prize at the prestigious Fritz Kreisler competition in Vienna .

Sergey Krylov also collaborated with such conductors as Yuri Temirkanov , Valery Gergiev , Nikola Luizotti , Vladimir Ashkenazi , Dmitry Kitaenko , Mikhail Pletnev , Omer M. Wellber, Andrey Boreyko , Yutaka Sado , Zoltan Kochish , Dmitry Liss , Vladimir Yurovsky and Yuri Bashmet . His partners in chamber concerts were many famous musicians: Efim Bronfman , Elina Garancha , Yuri Bashmet, Denis Matsuev , Itamar Golan , Alexander Knyazev , Bruno Canino , Misha Maisky , Zoltan Kochish, Nobuko Imai , Alexander Buzlov, Lilia Zilberstein and many others. In collaboration with Sting, he recorded the Twin Spirits DVD on Robert Schumann .

Since 2008 , Sergey Krylov combines his solo career with conducting. He is the chief conductor of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. As a conductor, he worked with such orchestras as the English Chamber Orchestra, the Regionale Toscana Symphony Orchestra, the Accademia Orchestra Mozart Chamber Orchestra, the Magna Grecia Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra and others.

Since 2012 , he is a professor at the Conservatory in Lugano , Switzerland (The Universaty of Music and Arts in Lugano, Switzerland).
