Biography
Childhood
Zeynab Khanlarova was born on December 28, 1936 in Baku . Zeynab was the youngest of five children in the family of oilman Yahya and housewife Perijagan Khanlarovyh. As a child, his father instilled in Zeynab a love of oriental poetry, which is an integral part of mugams [2] . From an early age, Khanlarova had a love of music, in her free time she took part in an amateur art circle at the local Palace of Pioneers.
Youth
She studied at school number 161 in Baku. Since childhood, dreaming of becoming a teacher, she entered the Sabir Baku Pedagogical School. Even as a student of a pedagogical school, Zeynab reached out to music, participated in amateur performances, performed mugams at school events: while studying in her last year at a teacher's school, in 1955, Zeynab Khanlarova together with the band performed in Azerbaijan Philharmonic with the Azerbaijani folk song “Azerbaijan Maral”; its performance was highly praised by Afrasiyab Badalbeyli, Dzhangir Dzhangirov and Kambar Huseynli [3] . According to their recommendations, at the end of the pedagogical school, Khanlarova immediately entered the music school named after Asaf Zeynalli.
The outstanding muhammad Zeynab Khanlarova became the outstanding Hanande Seid Shushinsky [1] [4] . Hanende taught the singer not only music, but also stage behavior. Seyid Shushinsky decided to conduct an experiment, offering to perform Zeynab mugam “Chargakh”, although he was considered exclusively male mugam. In 1960, she became the first woman to perform “Chargakh” [5] [6] [7] ; Khanlarova’s recording of this mugam is still kept in the Golden Fund of the Azerbaijan Radio.
