Pleocomidae (lat.) - a family of insects from the order of beetles , including the only modern genus Pleocoma and about 30 species [1] .

Description
Found in North America. Body length: males 16.5-29.0 mm; females 19.5–44.5 mm. Antennae 11-segmented. Karyotype 9 + Xyp [1] .
Systematics
The family is sometimes considered as a subfamily among the lamellar ( Geotrupidae , Melolonthinae , as a subfamily Pleocominae ) [1] . Several fossil species from three genera are known [2] .

Ecology and habitats
They feed on the roots of oaks and conifers .
