Sybyzgy ( Bashk. Ҙғybyҙғy , Karach. - balcony . Sybyzgy , foot. Sybyzy , Kazakh. Sybyzy , Russian Chibizga , Tat. Sybyzy ) - a wind musical instrument. A genus of open longitudinal flute of the type of Bashkir and Tatar kurai . Length is 600-650 mm. 4-hole sonic scale: d1 - e1 - fis1 - g1 - a1; with 6 holes: c1 - d1 - e1 - f1 - g 1 - a1 - h1. It is rare today [1] .

In Kazakhstan, there are two varieties of sybyzgy associated with different performing traditions. So the eastern sybyzgy has a cone-shaped, shorter in length and small in diameter shape, the western variety is larger and longer.
Musical instruments similar to sybyz exist among many Eurasian peoples: kaval - among the Hungarians, Moldavians and Bulgarians, kurai - among the Bashkirs, Gargs tyuduk - among the Turkmens, tzoor - among the Mongols, shoor - among the Altai, choor - among the Kyrgyz and many others. Currently, sybyzgy is a part of all Kazakh musical and ethnographic groups.
