Opel Astra J

The Opel Astra J is a compact car that succeeded the Opel Astra H in the lineup. Based on the Delta II platform and debuted in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Frankfurt. Car design continued the new line of corporate design that began with Opel Insignia , adopted from it numerous innovative technical and design solutions. A full-fledged production cycle began at the Vauxhall factory in Elsmereport, Cheshire in late September 2009. Deliveries of the car in Europe began in December 2009. In Russia, Astra J has been officially sold since 2010 and was manufactured at the General Motors factory in Shushary .

During development, it was named Opel Astra I , but then it was decided to replace the letter with J , since the letter I can be understood as the number 1.

On December 5, 2009, a five - door hatchback entered the market ^[1] , the station wagon appeared in mid-2010 ^[2] , the GTC in early 2011 ^[3] , and photos of the sedan appeared on February 10, 2012 ^[4] .

March 7, 2012 at the Frankfurt Motor Show was presented the fastest version of OPC ^[5] . Sales began in the fall of 2012, prices in Russia start from the level of 1,150,000 rubles ^[6] .

In June 2012, the final photos of the sedan were shown ^[7] . The finished version was shown at the 2012 Moscow Motor Show .
