Jennifer Lynn Carpenter ( Engn . Jennifer Leann Carpenter ; born December 7, 1979, Louisville , Kentucky ) is an American actress, known for playing the roles of Debra Morgan in the television series Dexter and Emily Rose in the film “ Six Demons Emily Rose ”.

Early years
Carpenter was born in Louisville , Kentucky . She graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy Catholic School for Girls in Louisville , also attended the Walden Theater Conservatory and later the Juilliard School in New York . Prior to her graduation, she took part in the Broadway production of Arthur Miller 's play “Severe Testing”, starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney .
Career
Carpenter made his debut on the big screen in 2002. It was a minor role in the drama People Are Dead. Carpenter first attracted the attention of critics due to his work in the film " Six Demons Emily Rose ." In 2006 she received 2 MTV Movie Awards .
Carpenter is widely known for the role of Debra Morgan in the television series Dexter on Showtime , which premiered on October 1, 2006. Her image of the main character’s sister impressed some critics, in particular, Australian journalist Jack Marks described her “cool and awkward” game as “ so perfect that many viewers seem to be mistaken in the actress, seeing the flaws of her character. " [1] The show ended in 2013, after eight seasons.
Personal life
In 2008–2011, Jennifer was married to her partner on the Dexter series Michael Hall [2] [3] .
Since May 29, 2016, Jennifer has been married to the member of The Avett Brothers music group Seth Evett with whom she met 3 years before their wedding. The couple have a son - Isaac Evett (born at the end of May 2015) [4] .
