Geography
Located 3 kilometers east of Samara . Administratively refers to the Volzhsky district of the Samara region . To the west of the village is Smyshlyaevka airport .
History
The working village of the Volga region. The village was founded at the end of the XVIII century, around 1791 . The name with a nickname and family basis associated with common nouns - “to conceive, to invent something, to conceive”; be smart - “he who is smart; prudent, shrewd, quick-witted. ” On this basis, nicknames were given, surnames were formed from them, sometimes also called villages.
The settlement of Smyshlyaevka is mentioned in the notes of A. S. Pushkin during his collection of information about the Pugachev rebellion.
A monument was erected on the central square in the village of Smyshlyayevka in honor of the heroes of World War II. Every year on May 9 solemn events and honoring of veterans are held here.
Incidents
On October 10, 1958, at 00:14 Moscow time, near the Kuibyshev Airport Smyshlyaevka during a night training flight in simple weather conditions, the Li-2 aircraft (the side number of the USSR-84733) of the 66th Joint Aviation Squad crashed. Because of the violation of piloting technology, the plane lost height, touched a fence and the roof of a private house in the village of Smyshlyayevka at ul. Kuibyshev, d. 62. Then the plane turned over and left the engine to the roof of a private house on the street. Kuibyshev, d. 31. Three crew members died at the crash site, the flight mechanic died in hospital 2 hours and 20 minutes after the incident. The co-pilot was injured. Residents of both damaged houses were not injured.
