Lutrochids ( lat. Lutrochidae ) - a family of aquatic insects from the order of beetles , including 12 species in one genus Lutrochus .

Description
Beetles have an oval body shape, short antennae . 2-6 mm long. They have a yellowish color. Larvae 4-10 mm in size with short and poorly developed legs.
Distribution
All beetles of the family are distributed exclusively in the New World . In the fossil state, the family is known from the Oligocene [1] .
Systematics
The genus Lutrochus was considered as a part of trailers and false pills , but then was assigned to a separate family.
