Georgia at the Olympics

Georgia , as an independent state, first performed at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and has participated in all Games since then. At the 1992 Summer Olympics, Georgian athletes were part of a united team , and earlier, since 1952, they performed under the flag of the USSR .

The Georgian National Olympic Committee was founded in 1989 , and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1993 .

In total, during their performance as an independent team, Georgia’s athletes won 25 Olympic medals, of which 6 are gold, 5 silver and 14 are bronze. All medals won at the Summer Olympics .
