Paul Hogan ( born Paul Hogan ; born October 8, 1939 , New South Wales , Australia ) is an Australian actor who is best known for his lead role as Crocodile Mick Dundee in the Dundee Crocodile trilogy.

Biography

Before starting to play in films and television series, he starred in commercials.

From 1973 to 1984, he hosted the humorous "Paul Hogan Show" on Australian television.

Paul Hogan gained fame outside Australia in 1986 after playing the role of Dundee's Crocodile in the film of the same name. For this role, he received the Golden Globe Award (1986), and in 1987 he was nominated for an Oscar .

He was twice married. The first wife is Noel Hogan (1958-1990), the second is Linda Kozlowski , his partner in a series of films about Crocodile Dundee (since 1990), they have a son, Chance [1] . On October 18, 2013, the couple announced a divorce. [2]

In 2009, the Australian Tax Office began prosecuting the actor for tax evasion from 1986 to 2009 . At the beginning of 2010, the actor was forbidden to leave Australia, but already at the end of 2010, the case was dismissed "due to futility and undesirable public outcry." The actor himself claims that they paid taxes neatly and on time.
