Sperheids ( lat. Spercheidae ) - a family of insects of the order Coleoptera , including one genus Spercheus Kugelann, 1798 and six species. Little water bugs.

Distribution

Mostly residents of the Old World. In South America, there is one species. One species lives in Russia - Spercheus emarginatus . The oldest find of the family in a fossil state is considered to be Prospercheus cristatus from the upper Jurassic of Mongolia [1] .
