Ground structures

The lobby is designed by architects A.K. Andreev , Y. E. Moskalenko and built into the building of the Fashion House, located at the intersection of Kamennoostrovsky Prospect and Bolshoi Prospect of the Petrograd Side , near Leo Tolstoy Square .

The lobby is L-shaped in plan. Above the escalator passage was a stained glass window reflecting the history of fashion. Each of the 6 paintings depicted a man and a woman dressed in costumes of various eras (skins of the ancient world, a knight and his lady, etc.). It was destroyed on December 31, 1993 as a result of an explosion in one of the shops that rented a room in the Mod House.

Underground Structures

Petrogradskaya is a closed type deep-seated station (depth ≈ 53 m). The underground hall was designed by architects V. F. Belov , A. V. Govorkovsky, V. L. Rivin, N. N. Tregubov and L. I. Shimakovsky . The corrugated surface of the walls of the apron hall is made in the form of ceramic lining. The end wall is decorated with a golden decorative panel against the background of a blue lattice, which shows the profiles of the worker and the peasant woman, created by the artist G.N. Vasiliev .

An inclined course containing three escalators is located at the northern end of the station.

Previously, the station had blue station doors, but in 2008 they were replaced by black doors typical of all closed-type stations.

Overhaul

Repair began on December 17, 2012 without closing the lobby, and on January 5, 2013 the station was completely closed.

The station was overhauled by the order of the Petersburg Metro by ZAO Metro-contract. The cost of work amounted to more than 146 million rubles. During the repair, the lobby of the station and the pedestrian crossing near it were repaired. The escalator tunnel was also reconstructed.

During the repair on October 2 at the station in the utility room there was a fire due to the worker's fault [2] [3] , because of which traffic in the streets was difficult due to traffic jams [4] , and the stations “ Gorky "and" Black River " [5] .

The overhaul of Petrogradskaya was completed by November [6] [7] [8] , and the station, as expected [9] [10] [11] , was opened on November 15, 2013 [12] [13] [14] , in connection with which the temporary land transport routes, organized during the overhaul of the station [15] [16], were canceled.

Perspectives

It is planned to build a transition to the Botanicheskaya station of the Koltsevaya Line by 2028–2030. [17]

Track Development

Behind the station is a non-standard 3-arrow turnoff dead end. In the future, it will become a connecting branch to the Ring Line .

Both main routes at the congresses follow a deviation. This is due to the fact that it was originally planned to build two middle dead ends (as a result, one was built), of which in the future it was planned to pass a branch to Krestovsky Island . According to some schemes of track development, there is a second dead end behind the station, only there are no rails and other equipment in it.
