Grinenki s, - is located on level ground, at the postal road from metro Tulchina to Bratslav, at 6 ver. from the latter towards the south; train station Art. "Crane" in 25 ver. The area is healthy; black soil. How long the village has existed is not known with accuracy. It can be assumed that it was inhabited in the first half of the 18th century, since the first church was built in 1765. From the 18th century until the 70s of the XIX century. the estate belonged to the Potocki, then the Stroganovs, and now belongs to the Specific Office. The parishioners are now husband. n. 613 and wives. 594; in addition, there are 9 Jews in Georgia. Parishioners are Little Russian peasants engaged in tilling. The first temple in G. is John the Theologian; It was arranged in 1765. by permission of the uniate. Kholm Bishop Maximilian Rylo (Book. Visit IV, No. 90). This church was a three-domed, 16 arsh. lengths and 6 arsh. width, with a four-tier iconostasis. After the construction of a new temple in G., the old one was sold for 350 r. cross, society der. The old church had a separate bell tower, built in 1858 by the administrator of the Tushino estate Athanasius Abazoy; this bell tower was also demolished after the construction of a new church. The last, now existing, church was built in 1885-1891. in a new place (on a manor reserved for the peasant society). The church was released from the amount bequeathed by ex. the owner of the village Mikhail Pototsky, 18854 p. A charity document was issued by His Grace Justin on June 27, 1885; the building was consecrated by the Dean A. Borzhkovsky on September 25, 1891 in the name of St. Up John the Evangelist. The building of this church is a brick, single-domed, with a bell tower together; its length is 30 arsh., the width in the cross middle part is 10 arsh., in the remaining parts is 8 arsh., the height to the cross is 33 arsh. The church is fenced with a brick fence with an iron gate. The priests in G. were: Pyotr Bialkowsky from 1825 to 1845, who served as a member of the Bratslav Spiritual Board; when it was increased the allotment of church land by the landowner Potocki from 33 dess. up to 61 dess; then his son, Nikolai Bialkovsky, until 1868 and Viktor Yankovsky (died in 1896) held the priesthood in G.; the current church was built under him. Church. land now only 72 d. 168 soot., including the estate. 2 d. 2044 s, farm 2 d. 1244 soot., Hay. 9 dess. and uncomfortable 1 dec. 1040 soot .; the rest is arable. Moreover, the premises were arranged in 1885-1886 according to the law of 1872. Church-parish. school since 1893; placed in a brick house, built in 1893.
