Biography
Ekaterina Litovchenko was born in the city of Sverdlovsk in the Lugansk (then Voroshilovgrad) region in 1948. From the age of 12, she began to practice in the circus , preferred air gymnastics. On June 25, 1966 she graduated from the 9th grade of secondary school No. 7. After that she entered the local trade vocational school.
All this time, she trained hard in the circus collective of DK “im. Ya. M. Sverdlov. " Permanent daily classes did their job, and the group began to perform first in the region, and then - throughout the USSR. On June 1, 1968, an accident occurred: while practicing trampolining , she fell from a height, having received a fracture of the cervical vertebra . [1] Since that time she has been bedridden and has received disability of group I.
In the society of disabled people, “Courage” met its chairman (Zaitsev Nikolay Prokofievich), who inspired her to further exploits. Gradually developed neck muscles, mastered writing on her own, with the help of a pen clamped in her teeth.
Since 1993, she began to draw with a felt-tip pen , a pencil clamped in her teeth. For all time, more than 300 works have been created, which were exhibited at exhibitions in the USA, Holland, Belgium and many other countries of the world.
His work, basically, gives. [2] Ekaterina Litovchenko died on July 16, 2012 due to a second stroke. For 44 years she was bedridden. This is an amazing person, a strong spirit.
Awards and Prizes
On November 29, 1996, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine . In 2003, the St. Mary International Charitable Fund awarded the honorary title “Ukrainian Madonna”. [3]
