Biography
He was born on March 30 ( April 11 according to the new style) in 1853 [1] . Received general education at the Tiflis Classical Gymnasium .
He entered service on December 2, 1869, in the 77th Tenginsky Infantry Regiment of the 20th Infantry Division . February 4, 1875 he graduated from the Tiflis Infantry Junker School with the production of ensigns .
Member of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. . Second Lieutenant since May 1, 1877. He was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 3rd degree with swords and bow. Since August 25, 1878, a lieutenant . He was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree with swords and a bow.
In 1880 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with swords and bow. Headquarters captain since February 17, 1881. In 1883 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd degree. Captain since February 3, 1888.
Since February 26, 1895, lieutenant colonel . Since December 26, 1897, he was an army infantry with the troops of the Caucasian Military District . In 1898 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree.
On February 12, 1901, he was promoted to colonel for honors [2] , and on May 20 he was appointed commander of the 1st Caucasian Rifle Battalion of the 1st Caucasian Rifle Brigade [3] . Since March 26, 1904, the commander of the 79th Kurinsky Infantry Regiment. In 1906 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree.
Since February 19, 1908, the commander of the 1st Brigade of the Caucasian Grenadier Division . November 28, 1908 promoted to major general with approval in office [4] . In 1911 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree.
In 1913 he was promoted to lieutenant general. From September 1914 to July 1915, the commander of the 3rd Caucasian Rifle Brigade. By the highest order of May 17, 1915, he was awarded the Order of St. George of the 4th degree. From July 5, 1915 [5] to August 1916, the commander of the Caucasian Grenadier Division [6] .
In the period from 1916 to 1917 he was the military commandant of Tiflis , at the end of 1917 he was appointed commander of the newly created Georgian Army Corps . He retained the highest military post during the existence of the Georgian Democratic Republic , but resigned after the establishment of Soviet power in Georgia in 1921 [7] .
He died on March 17, 1933 in Tiflis [1] .
