Story
Family Guy set up a “ yard sale ” to get rid of the trash. On it, Brian accidentally sells Rupert - Stewie's favorite teddy bear . Trying to buy him a replacement in a toy store leads to nothing.
Meanwhile, Peter decides to jump over a row of cars in a family car , but he doesn’t succeed, and Joe takes away his rights for this trick.
Lois persuades Meg to stay a little daddy's personal driver , but Peter in every way annoys his daughter, and scoffs at her while driving, and his friends help him in this. All this leads to an accident , after which the pent-up rage of Meg pours out on the driver, who drove into her from behind.
Stewie, meanwhile, is trying to figure out Rupert’s new owner through the federal DNA database, taking samples from a bill that the customer paid to Brian. It turns out that the stranger lives in Quahog (Lozhechnaya street, house 89), but his house is abandoned, the man has already left somewhere. Friends notice a truck driving off, rushing after him (the mayor Adam West drives them), but they lose sight of him near the border with Connecticut . Fortunately, the box falls out of the truck, and Stewie and Brian, having studied it, find out what they need in the city of Aspen , Colorado .
They go on a trip. To overcome the mountains , Stewie and Brian rent a helicopter , but the dog soon crashes the car. Nevertheless, the friends achieve their goal, but Stanford Cordray (the new owner of the bear) and his family do not want to return Rupert, and therefore they set the condition: slalom from the mountain on skis . If Stewie wins, then Rupert returns to the former owner, if Stanford wins, then he takes Brian ( “—What can he do?” “He licks the beer you spill from you. Licks it from everywhere ...” ) Stewie cheats using jet skis but crashes into a tree and loses. However, friends cheated (butler from Stewie's "ski house" splashed hot tea in the child's face) take Rupert away from Stanford's son and run away. Realizing that it will not be easy for them to get to the house, they attack a random driver , take his car away and go to Quahog.
A little later, Joe returns to Peter his rights. Peter confesses to Meg that he did not want to offend her, but simply “worked for the public”, and that now they will be “secret best friends” with her.

Cultural References
- At the Griffin sale, you can see the disc " Stymie Gruffin: The Untold Story ", which parodies the first full-length cartoon about Griffins .
- In the scene where Stewie presents Rupert's funeral , the song “ Oh, Grace ” ( 1779 ) by John Newton sounds; this scene also mimics Spock's funeral from the second part of Star Trek [1] .
- Peter watches TV series " Merry Company " (1982 - 1993 ).
- In the sidebar, you can see Sharon Stone devouring his sexual partner.
- The phrase of Peter caught in the refrigerator by Lois, “This is not Peter, but only Zuul” ( “there is no Peter, only Zuul” ) is a parody of the film “ Ghostbusters ” ( 1984 ) [1] .
- Stewie's dance scene is a parody of the film Anchors Aweigh ( 1945 ). Each frame in the scene was drawn very carefully, since the animated boy here worked closely with the “artistic” sailor , and work on the scene took a lot of time [1] [2] . The Stewie in this scene is painted over the mouse Jerry , who was dancing in the original. The kid's partner in the scene is Gene Kelly .
- The music box “ My Black Son” parodies the series Family Ties ( 1982–1989 ), Punks Brewster (1984–1988), Various Punches ( 1978–1986 ), and Three are company ”( 1977 - 1984) [3] [4] . It also mentions that "Cast - Peter Griffin and Emmanuel Lewis ."
- Brian sings James Taylor's “ Country Road ” song when he and Stewie hitchhike.
- In the car, Peter watches an episode of the animated series SpongeBob . The copyright holder of the Nickelodeon TV channel granted the Family Guides the right to completely dispose of the video and audio sequence of their cartoon [1] [5] .
- The scene in the car cinema where Peter breaks the roof of a car with his head is a parody of the screensaver of the animated series Flintstones .
- The scene in which Brian sees Stewie in the image of the devil during a helicopter accident is a parody of the film “ By Air, Train and Car ” ( 1987 ) [1] .
- Peter and his friends went to the movie " Translation Difficulties " (2003).
- The butler in the "ski house" Stewie is a parody of the character of Jackie Gleason from the show of the same name ( 1949 - 1957 ) [1] .
- The scene of car theft by Brian and Stewie is a parody of the movie " Reservoir Dogs " ( 1992 ).
- According to the road sign , the distance between Aspen and Quahog is 2112 miles , which is a parody of the album with the same name ( 1976 ) by Rush .
- This episode is the third, which shows the joint travels of Brian and Stewie, as the main characters. Previous were Road to Rhode Island and Road to Europe , followed by Road to Germany , Road to the Multiverse and Road to the North Pole . All of these titles are parodies of a series of seven comedy films "The Road to ..." ( 1940 - 1962 ) with the participation of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby .
- The episode’s screensaver is fundamentally different from the standard one: only Stewie and Brian appear in it, the name of the series is present, and all of it is made in the style of cartoons of the mid- 20th century .
- Peter buys the gloves of motorcycle racer Evil Nivel .
- Stewie furiously calls Brian " son of a bitch ", which cannot offend the latter, since he is a dog.
- From the DNA database, it appears that the new owner of Rupert was born on June 20, 1966; watching the series Detective Rush , Without a Trace , and Yu-Gi-Oh! "
Deleted and modified scenes
- In order to save airtime, a scene was removed from the TV version of the episode in which Lois ridiculed the series “ Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story ” [1] [3] ; for the same reasons, only DVDs left scenes of visits by Brian and Stewie to several states [5] .
- For political correctness , the scene was changed in which Peter crashes into a car. The allusion to the Jews was replaced by “ depriving a car of virginity by an airbag ” [3] [4] .
- Seemingly unfunny, a scene was removed in which Stewie takes pills to calm down after Rupert’s disappearance [3] [4] .
- The scene of Stewie and Brian’s attack on the driver of a car was added at the last moment, but was banned from showing on TV [4] .
