Südwestdeutsche Rundfunkdienst AG and Südwestdeutsche Rundfunk GmbH (1924 - 1933)

In 1924, the private radio company Südwestdeutsche Rundfunkdienst AG ("Southeast German Broadcasting Service") ^{[1] was established} , which launched the eponymous radio station on medium waves. Reichsrundfunk GmbH (1934 - 1945)

hr (since 1945)

Control

The activities of hr are regulated by the Land Broadcasting Act ( Gesetz über den Hessischen Rundfunk ), adopted, amended and repealed by the Hessian Landtag. It is managed by the Board of Directors ( Verwaltungsrat ), elected by the Land Broadcasting Council ( hr-rundfunkrat ) (5 members of which are elected by the Hessian Landtag, 1 by the Hessian Government and 25 by public organizations), and the CEO ( Intendant ).

Financing
