Malakhov, Vladimir Vasilievich

Vladimir Vasilievich Malakhov (born March 13, 1951 , Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg)) is a Soviet and Russian biologist , zoologist , morphologist and embryologist . Doctor of Biological Sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1997), professor and head of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University [1] .

Biography

He graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil of Moscow State University in 1973, the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, having received the specialty of a biologist and zoologist. He studied at the graduate school of the same faculty at the Department of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy of Invertebrates. The student of professor K.V. Beklemishev [2] .

In 1976 he defended his thesis “Development History and the Life Cycle of the Free-living Sea Nematode Pontonema vulgare (Bastian, 1865)”, and in 1980, his doctoral dissertation “Analysis of the Organization of Nematodes and the System of Primary Cavity Worms”. In 1986 he was awarded the academic title of professor. Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1994), member of the Russian Society of Nematologists. Research interests: comparative anatomy of invertebrates, invertebrate embryology, ultrastructure, phylogeny.

  • 1976-1980 - Junior Researcher, Department of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy of Invertebrates, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University;
  • 1980-1982 - Senior Researcher at the Institute of Development Biology. N. K. Koltsova, USSR Academy of Sciences;
  • 1982-1985 - Head Laboratory of the Institute of Marine Biology, Far Eastern Scientific Center, Academy of Sciences of the USSR ( Vladivostok );
  • 1985 — present - Professor of the Department of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy of Invertebrates, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University.
  • Since 2000, since 2000, has been the head of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, Moscow State University [2] .

Editor-in-chief of the journal “Invertebrate Zoology”, member of the editorial boards of the journals “ Nature ” [3] and, earlier, “ Questions of the History of Natural Science and Technology ” [2] .

  • Prize of the Lenin Komsomol of the Central Committee of the Komsomol ( 1984 ) for the work “The Structure, Development, and Phylogeny of Primordial Worms”;
