Blue-headed spiderweb

• The cap is 4–10 cm in diameter; in young mushrooms it is convex, then almost flat, smooth, slimy, shiny, ocher-brown, dark brown or yellow-orange, sometimes with an olive tinge. Cortina mucous, white or bluish color.
• Lamellae, young bluish-purple or bluish-ocher in young mushrooms, become rusty-brown over time.
• The stem is 5–12 × 0.7–2 cm, cylindrical in shape, mucous, purple or white, brown with age at the bottom, with brownish film bands.
• The cap pulp is whitish or slightly yellowish, brownish at the bottom of the leg, mauve at the top. There is no smell and taste.
• Spore powder is rusty brown. Spores 11.5–18 × 7–9 μm, almond-shaped lemon-shaped.

The species belongs to the group of hardly distinguished spider webs of the subgenus Myxacium . Poisonous species are not among them, the majority is considered edible mushrooms of low quality.

It is found in coniferous and deciduous forests.

In Europe, it grows in Austria , Belgium , Germany , Great Britain , Denmark , Romania , Poland , Estonia , Lithuania , Finland , France , Switzerland , the Czech Republic , Slovakia , Sweden , Belarus , Moldova and Ukraine . Also found in Georgia , Armenia , Japan , USA and Morocco . On the territory of Russia it is found in Tatarstan , Karelia , the Leningrad , Murmansk , Moscow , Irkutsk and Tomsk regions, Krasnoyarsk , Primorsky and Krasnodar Territories.
