Style Dancing

The street style of dance appeared during the street performance of the dance and is actually the forerunner of the stage style. At the moment, this is the name of the improvisational dance style, combining the elements of salon and tabor dance, designed to be able to choose the best movements taking into account the current situation: the number of spectators and the distance to them, available space, features of the floor, street coverage, soil, and music.

Dance of Russian Gypsies
A peculiarity of this dance is its composition (which may not be present in a tabor style): a gradual increase in tempo, from slow at the beginning to very fast, energetic at the end. Particular attention is paid to challenging footwork.
In male dance, a characteristic movement is a quick, rhythmic slamming of oneself. In the female - graceful, expressive movements of the hands, the battle with shoulders.
The stage version of the female dance is also characterized by finger play, borrowed from flamenco and oriental dances, wide, curly waved skirts, and stalls.
In many movements, Russian roots are still traced, for example, in elements such as the tropak.

Balkan gypsy couple dance

In Balkan gypsies, shaking of the hips is accompanied by an expressive play of hands; it can also be combined with a snapping of fingers, twists and typical Balkan leg movements. Turkish gypsies dance several types of dances, such as the Havasa novel, Sulu Kule Chifetetelli, Küchek and others. Their dances often include small acrobatic stunts and small pantomimes on everyday or romantic themes. By nature, the dance is flirty and perky.
As in other gypsy and oriental dances, in the gypsy belly dance there is such a movement as a shiver. There are also options for dancing with a scarf or shawl, as with a veil.
Gypsy belly dancing in Muslim countries has its own male party, more courageous and aggressive.
Flamenco
Having, among other things, Moorish and Jewish roots, flamenco has long been considered a purely gypsy art.

Flamenco is, above all, a professional gypsy art and therefore exists primarily in stage and street form.

Dance of Polish Gypsies
According to gypsy scholar Jerzy Fitzowski, the dance of Polish gypsies looks like this:
A characteristic feature of gypsy dance is its soloism; gypsies do not dance in pairs or collectively. In a man’s dance, fast, maneuverable, impetuous, the dancer beats the rhythm with heels, accompanied by the blows of the palms on the hips, lower legs and soles. The woman’s dance is less angular, softer, smoother. The dancer crushes her legs almost in place, slightly moving forward and to the side, the mill remains upright, and only the shoulders, arms, palms raised above her head, symmetrically lowered, folded together and torn by throwing forward, are mobile. Gypsy dancers pay close attention to the play of palms and fingers, collecting them, spreading and creating from them various figures, familiar to us from Indian figurines. One of the typical figures of gypsy women’s dance is as follows: as the tempo rises, the melodies of the hand movements become more rapid, until, finally, at the climax, they stop and fall down, while the dancer’s shoulders begin to tremble in ecstasy
Dance of the Gypsy Magyars
The gypsy-magyar dance is distinguished by an expressive, masculine party rich in movements and a meager, unimpressive female party.
Male dance consists of playing feet, clapping feet, snapping with fingers.
Chora, ora
Gypsy ora is a dance of gypsies of the Balkan groups, borrowed from the surrounding peoples. It can be either in the form of a simple round dance, characterized by the same sex of participants, or with different variations. In any case, as a rule, only girls and women dance, sometimes only boys and men.
