History

The history of the university dates back to June 12, 1930 , when, according to the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR No. 19/672, the Kharkov Operational and Traction Institute of Railway Engineers was established on the basis of the Kharkov Joint College of Railway Engineering. At the new institute, 432 students began classes. In 1930, graduate school was opened. [one]

In 1932 , the educational institution was renamed the Kharkov Operational and Mechanical Institute of Railway Engineers, and in the fall of 1933 - the Kharkov Institute of Railway Engineers (HIIT).

Since the mid-1980s, KhIIT has been in the top three universities of its profile (along with the Moscow and Leningrad institutes of railway engineers), providing professional personnel to the railways of the entire Soviet Union, and was the basic institute of the State Educational Institution of the Ministry of Railways on issues of a new organization, technical and aesthetic support of the educational process. Repeatedly awarded the challenge Red Banner. Since 1992, the institute has been entrusted with the functions of a leading organization in Ukraine in addressing the educational and methodological support of the industry and the development of new educational tools and technologies for the training of highly qualified specialists.

In 1993 , KhIIT was accredited by the State Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the IV level of accreditation with a change in status. The institute became known as the Kharkov State Academy of Railway Transport. According to the order of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine No. 346 dated May 28, 2001, the university was called the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport (UkrGAZhT). [2]

By order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1049-r dated October 30, 2014, as part of the implementation of the new Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", the university was renamed the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport.

As of 2008, the faculty of the university totaled 479 people, including 38 professors and 217 associate professors, including 10 full members and 12 corresponding members of industry academies of Ukraine. Over 130 university graduates became doctors of sciences.

  • Further training of civil servants of the transport and road complex of Ukraine.

Donetsk Institute of Railway Transport UkrGUZhT

Donetsk Institute of Railway Transport is a structural unit of UkrGUZHT. The Institute is a training base for railway specialists in the Donetsk region. It was formed as the Donetsk branch of the Kharkov Institute of Railway Transport in 1967 . It has 6 faculties and 12 departments.

The HIIT Donetsk branch owed its creation to two circumstances:

1) the role and importance in the national economic complex of the USSR of the newly created branch from the South - Donetsk Railway , which was one of the most stressful;

2) its insufficient staffing.

This inspired the leadership of the Donetsk Railway to take advantage of the fact that the training and consulting center of the Kharkov Institute of Transport Engineers is functioning in Donetsk and to open a branch of this institute on its basis.

The idea was supported by the head of the Donetsk Iron Priklonsky V.V. and the rector of KhIIT . By that time, Professor Ignatiev A.F .; which determined the list of works that JD needed to carry out so that from September 1, 1968 , Donetsk correspondence students of the first and fourth courses of the institute living in cities and towns of Donbass began to study in six transport specialties in the Donetsk branch.

The result of the initiatives of the Donetsk Railway and the administration of the Kharkov Institute of Transport Engineers was the order of the Ministry of Railways of the USSR of November 3, 1967 "On the organization of the Donetsk branch of KhIIT."

There are 6 faculties in the structure of the institute:

  • Management of railway transportation processes;
  • Railway infrastructure;
  • Economics of transport;
  • Correspondence faculty;
  • Faculty of Postgraduate Education;
  • Faculty of pre-university training).

And 12 departments, of which 7 graduating (“Organization of train traffic, rolling stock”, “Automation, telemechanics, communications and computer technology”, “Construction, operation of structures and track facilities”, “Accounting and audit”, “Management”, “ Enterprise economy").

DonIZhT has at its disposal 5 educational buildings, one dormitory, two gyms and two sports grounds, the Ivushka recreation center at the Brusino station of the Donetsk railway, and a library (about 200 thousand copies of print media).

Faculty of Transportation Process Management (SCP)

The Faculty of Transportation Process Management, the country's first educational faculty for the operation of communications, was established in 1918 at the Kiev Institute of National Economy . In 1934 , the Faculty of Operations was transferred from the Kiev Institute of Railways to the Kharkov Institute of Railway Engineers.

After unification with KhIIT, the department of exploitation was headed by Professor A.P. Golovchenko, and later by associate professors A.I. Pribegin and V.V. Povorozhenko. The Department of Railway Operation was renamed the Department of Traffic Management, which was supervised by prominent scientists Professor I. V. Glazatov (1930-1936), V. M. Belelubovsky. The Department of Stations and Units was headed by V.K. Andrianovskiy, Associate Professor V.T. Kiptely, and from 1936 to 1974, Professor A. M. Dolaberidze. From 1974 to 1984 The department was headed by associate professor A.P. Shipulin, and since 1984 the department has been headed by associate professor I.V. Berestov.

The pre-war years were marked by a wide range of engineers - specialists from the operation of railways. Only the 1939 edition left 340 engineers from traffic management and freight work.

In 1938, V.T. Kipteliy was appointed dean of the faculty, who had been working on this post for 30 years; only in 1969 he was replaced by V.K. Dmitriev.

In the fall of 1941, the institute was evacuated in Tashkent , where until 1943 teachers and students of the faculty combined training in the evening with dedicated work on defense.

Upon returning to Kharkiv, students of the faculty took an active part in the restoration of the city, their native institute, and continued their studies.

At the beginning of the 60s, the most modern laboratory for organizing the movement of trains was created at that time, which made it possible to conduct training for faculty students in conditions close to real ones.

Traditionally, student scientific and technical conferences took place at the faculty.

In recent years, the faculty has intensified the defense of doctoral and master's theses. The leaders of graduate students and applicants are such scientists as T.V. Butko [4] , D.V. Lomotko [5] , V.M. Zapara, E.S. Aleshinsky, A.N. Ogar, A.V. Lavrukhin, A.V. Prokhorchenko.
