History
International Nickel Company (Inco) was founded in 1902 in the state of New Jersey ( USA ) by the merger of several companies, including Canadian Copper Co. , Orford Copper Co. and Société Minière Caledonienne . Inco Inco establishes Petsamonikel subsidiary
On October 24, 2006, a controlling stake in Inco was acquired by Brazilian mining company Companhia Vale do Rio Doce ( CVRD ). Since January 4, 2007, it has completely come under the control of CVRD and has been renamed CVRD Inco Limited. November 29, 2007 the company was named Vale Inco. [one]

Activities
Vale Limited produces and smelts nickel , copper , cobalt . Before the sale of the Brazilian CVRD, the company was the second largest nickel producer in the world after Norilsk Nickel .
The number of employees is 11700 people ( 2005 ). Revenues for 2005 - $ 4.5 billion, net profit - $ 317 million.
