“Basket Hall” is an indoor multifunctional sports arena in the city of Kazan , the first basketball palace in Russia [2] . It is the home arena for the UNICS basketball club ( Super League A ), one of the most important facilities of the 2013 Universiade in Kazan . Also, the Basket Hall is used for concerts, seminars and other public events.

History
Due to the fact that the university cultural and sports complex KSK UNICS did not meet the needs of the basketball "UNICS" , the leadership of the club, the city and the republic decided to build a specialized arena. “Basket Hall” was designed by the local institute “ Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt ” with the participation of foreign subcontractors. Built by Turkish company " Odak ". In 2002, the Small Hall was commissioned, and in August 2003 - the Big Arena. In 2005, the arena received the first award “GROSS - Sports Industry of Russia” in the nomination “The Best Sports Complex in Russia”.
Since 2004, Basketball Hall has hosted major international and all-Russian competitions in basketball (for example, the FIBA Europa League Four Final), volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, weightlifting, badminton, integrated martial arts, belt wrestling, etc. In April 2011, the European Championship in Weightlifting was held at the Basket Hall, and in 2015, the World and European Championships in Acrobatic Rock and Roll [3] .
A-ha , Deep Purple , DDT , Patricia Kaas , Nikolai Baskov and other well-known groups and performers performed in concert with the concerts, traditionally held republican and city holidays of the harvest, New Year tree, last school bell, sobriety, etc. [4]
Prior to the appearance of the St. Petersburg Volleyball Palace, Basket Hall was also the home arena of the Zenit Volleyball Club (formerly Dynamo Tattransgaz) .
Interesting Facts
- According to a similar project, arenas were later built in Kaliningrad (IC Amber, 2009) and Krasnodar (IC Basket Basket Hall , 2011).
- In October 2011, in preparation for the launch of BC UNICS in the ULEB Euroleague, the arena was equipped with new video boards manufactured by Nata-Info . A video board with a pitch of 16 mm consists of 6 sections with an information field size of 6400X640 mm each. This complies with the requirements of the current FIBA technical regulations.
- Small architectural forms in the form of huge orange basketballs are installed at the top of all the edges of the building.
