Biography

Even during the life of his father, in 1054 , Konrad received the inheritance of Moravia , however, upon the accession to the throne of his older brother, Spytignev II , he was called to Prague and appointed manager of the princely court.

After the death of Spytignev and the accession of his other brother, Vratislav II , Konrad again took possession of a part of Moravia with Brno , as well as Znojmo (in 1061 ). He ruled these territories for 31 years, enjoyed the support of the local nobility, and organized several campaigns against Poland . In 1082, he fought with the Austrian Margrave Leopold II .

After the death of his brother, Ota Olomouc, under the rule of Conrad, all of Moravia found itself. It seemed to Vratislav too dangerous, and in 1090 he went on a campaign against Konrad. Only the differences that arose between Vratislav II and his son Bregetislav II saved the situation of the latter. Conrad's mediator was the wife of Conrad, who reconciled him with the king.

After the death of Vratislav, Konrad becomes the prince of the Czech Republic, but he rules the country for only 8 months. He left behind the sons of Oldrich (Udalrich) and Litold , who divided his possessions into the Brno and Znoemsky estates.
