Artur Besse ( Arthur Lancelot Besse , fr. Arthur Lancelot Besse ) - a group of French mathematicians working in the field of differential geometry and topology . It was formed under the clear influence of Nicolas Bourbaki . It is headed by Marcel Berger .
The group was formed in 1974 , from that moment the group organized seminars under its own name, and also published four books [1] . The pseudonym arose from the town of Bess-en-Chandesse ( French: Besse-en-Chandesse ) in Auvergne , where the first seminar of the group was held (moreover, the first conference of the Bourbaki group was also held in this place) [1] .
