The University of Liechtenstein ( German Universität Liechtenstein ) is one of the four centers of higher education of the Principality of Liechtenstein , located in the city of Vaduz .

History
For the training of engineers in 1961, the Evening Technical School of Vaduz ( Abendtechnikum Vaduz ) was founded. In 1988, the technical school was renamed the Liechtenstein School of Engineers ( Liechtensteinische Ingenieurschule ). In 1992, the status of an educational institution rose to the “Special High School of Liechtenstein” ( Fachhochschule Liechtenstein ). Since 2005, the High School of Liechtenstein ( Hochschule Liechtenstein ) was called. In 2011, got its current name.
In 2008, the status of the institute was upgraded to university, and now, in the framework of the Bologna process , not only bachelors and masters are trained there - the opportunity to receive a Ph.D. The degrees awarded are recognized by EU member states , the EEA and Switzerland .

The University of Liechtenstein is an associate member of the European Information Systems Research Center. In total, about 800 people study in the basic and additional training programs at the university.
