Liechtenstein krone ( German: Liechtenstein krone ) - the currency of Liechtenstein , used in 1898-1921. In parallel with it, Liechtenstein used the Austro-Hungarian crown , and after the collapse of Austria-Hungary , from March 1919 - the Austrian crown . Due to the instability of the crown in 1921, Liechtenstein switched to the Swiss franc , then the Liechtenstein franc was introduced.

The Liechtenstein Krone was divided into 100 Hellers . Coinage began in 1898, silver coins of 1, 2, and 5 kroons were minted and gold coins of 10 and 20 kroons. The characteristics of the coins corresponded to the characteristics of the Austro-Hungarian coins. In 1915, coinage was discontinued. In 1920, 10, 20, and 50 Heller banknotes were issued. Currently , coins are very rare, banknotes are a bit more common.

Coins 1 and 2 of the crown were minted from silver of the 835th test. 5 crowns from silver of the 900th test. Coins of denominations of 10 and 20 crowns were minted from gold of the 900th test. On the obverse of all the coins is a portrait of Johann II , and on the reverse is the coat of arms of Liechtenstein , denomination and year of minting.
