Service
Nefediev began his service in 1749, presumably in the Cadet Corps . Since 1779 - Major General , Knight of the Order of St. George IV class since November 26, 1787. [1] In 1788, he was promoted to lieutenant general . [2] December 2, 1786 became the second in a row the head of the Saratov province .
Under him was laid (1790), built and consecrated (1793) Lutheran church, burned down spiritual rule (1792). In 1794, the provincial government opened the first printing house in the province. In October 1795, being "old age and poor health", Nefediev received his resignation. On this occasion, Prince A. B. Kurakin wrote:
| My regret about the resignation of Ilya Gavrilovich, who was so sincerely located, could only diminish by the news that his position was assigned to Lansky, whom I have long known for honesty and dignity. As for Nefedyev, I must say in truth that in his wife he had a leader, self-seeking in all matters, and that because of his weakness, the most vowel and judgmental bribery in all Saratov judges and officials crept in. |
Nefedyev died on September 3, 1796 and was buried on September 4 at the churchyard of the Transfiguration Monastery , now Slavyansk (Pre-Bridge) Square. A monument was erected on the grave, which was still preserved in the 1850s .
Nefedyev’s wooden house with a small stone extension was located on the corner of Valovaya Street and Peskovsky Lane . It went on 18 fathoms along Valovaya and 9 fathoms along the alley and has not survived to this day.
