Club career
The early years
A pupil of Dynamo Kyiv , got to the Dynamo school at the age of 6. In 2005, he began to play at a professional level in Dynamo 3 and Dynamo 2 . He spent the second half of the 2007/08 season on loan at CSKA Kiev . In the summer of 2009, he went on lease to a newcomer to the Premier League - Kiev Obolon [2] . He made his debut in the Premier League on July 19, 2009 in a match against Metalist (0: 2, the defeat of the Brewers) [3] . In the period from 2011 to 2012, he played on loan for Kryvbas .
Dynamo (Kiev)
In February 2010, he was declared in the championship of Ukraine for the first Dynamo team. May 9 debuted in the official game. This was the match of the last round of the 2009/10 season. Dynamo played at home, any outcome of the match did not affect the team's tournament position. Boyko did not miss a single goal, the match ended 3-0.
In the spring part of the championship has never entered the field. In the Europa League match against Sheriff , he made a mistake, as a result of which Alexander Erokhin scored. The match ended with the victory of the Moldavian team 2-0.
Rent in the Dnieper
In June 2013, leased to the Dnepropetrovsk Dnipro [4] for a year, where he became the silver medalist of the Ukrainian Championship. In the 22nd minute of the match of the 23rd round of the Ukrainian championship against Dynamo Kyiv, Boyko toughly played against Kiev midfielder Oleg Gusev . When filing a corner at the gates of the Dnipro, Denis played at the exit and accidentally hit with a knee in the face of Gusev. Boyko's quickly-aligned teammate, Jaba Kanakawa, was the first to rush at Gusevu and prevented the tongue from sinking. Dynamo doctors said that Kankawa saved Gusev’s life.
Dnipro
After the lease ended, Boyko signed a full-fledged contract with Dnipro.
The club became the main goalkeeper. Largely thanks to him, Dnipro became the bronze medalist of the Ukrainian championship in the seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16. In the 2014/15 season, Boyko, together with his team, reached the final of the Europa League , where Dnipro lost in a bitter struggle to Sevilla with a score of 2: 3 [5] . He entered the symbolic team of the tournament [6] . In the championship, the “Dnepr” took third place without reaching the second, champion’s place, largely due to the complicated ending of the calendar (in the 23rd, 24th and 25th rounds, the Dnipro played respectively with Zorya , Kiev Dynamo ” and “ Miner ” ).
The season 2015/16 became less successful for Dnipro. In the group stage of the Europa League , Dnipro took 3rd place in Group G, not reaching 2 points in Saint-Etienne . Boyko played all matches in group matches. In the last match against Roussenborg, Boyko entered the field with a captain's armband and in the 12th minute he repelled a penalty from Paul Hellan [7] .
On January 20, 2016, the official website of Dnipro reported that Boyko was leaving the club and that Dnipro had already agreed on the transfer of the goalkeeper to Turkish Besiktas . Here is what the goalkeeper himself said about his departure from Dnipro:
| It was the best team and the best football family in my career! The Dnipro Football Club will remain in my heart for life. I am proud and happy that I played for such a club! Thank you very much to all my teammates for all the coaches and just to all the people who worked and are working in Dnipro! And of course, many thanks to the fans. It is insanely sorry that this is happening with our clubs. |
Besiktas
January 21, 2016 he moved to Besiktas , signing a contract for 3.5 years [8] . The size of the transfer ranged from 3.3 to 4 million euros. He made his debut for the Turkish club on February 10, 2016 in the match of the Turkish Cup against Konyaspor . The debut was unsuccessful - Denis conceded 2 goals and Besiktas lost 1: 2 [9] . The second match (also with the participation of Boyko) the “black eagles” lost 0: 1 and dropped out of the Cup [10] . In the Turkish championship, he played his first match on March 19, 2016 - against Antalyaspor (1-0, the victory of Besiktas). In that match, Denis received a serious head injury in a collision with a rival player, but after providing medical assistance, the Ukrainian goalkeeper managed to continue the game [11] .
Fans of the "black eagles" enthusiastically accepted the transfer of the Ukrainian, but he failed to win the competition against team captain Tolga Zengin . When Denis still got the odds, he played not in the best way. As a result, Boyko was simply not needed by Besiktas. On September 9, 2017, after returning from Málaga, he was transferred to the club’s double [12] .
Rental to Malaga
In August 2016, on loan, he moved to the Spanish club Malaga [13] . At that time, the anchovies were coached by the former Boyko coach at Dnipro, Juande Ramos . However, this did not help Denis become the main goalkeeper of the “Malaga”, losing competition to Carlos Kameni . In just one season in “Malaga” Boyko played 3 matches in which he conceded 7 goals [14] .
Rent at Dynamo (Kiev)
In February 2018, on loan he returned to Kiev Dynamo [15] . He made his debut on February 15 in the first match of the 1/8 finals of the Europa League against the Athenian AEK (1: 1) [16] . In Dynamo immediately got a place in the starting lineup. In just half a season in Kiev, Denis managed to play 19 matches in all tournaments. Also, successful performances at Dynamo helped Boyko return to the Ukrainian team . With his native team, Boyko reached the final of the Cup of Ukraine, which he lost to Shakhtar, and also won silver medals in the championship of Ukraine.
Dynamo (Kiev)
On the eve of Dynamo’s departure for the summer camp in Austria, Boyko signed a full-fledged contract with the Kiev club [17] . The first match after the transition was held on July 21 for the Shakhtar Super Cup of Ukraine , which the Kievans won with a score of 0: 1.
Team Career
He played for the youth teams of Ukraine up to 17 and up to 19 years. Spent one game. Boyko gave way to the main team of Anton Kanibolotsky .
On November 18, 2014 he made his debut in the national team of Ukraine in a match with Lithuania , the meeting ended in a goalless draw.
I got into the application of the Ukrainian team for the European Championship 2016 in France, but did not go on the field.
