Radiometer RKS-20.03 "Pripyat" ( Eng. RKS-20.03 "Prypyat" , RKS-20.03 "Pripyat" ) is an electronic measuring device manufactured in the Ukrainian SSR and manufactured in modern Ukraine. [1] Also known under various export names, for example Hurpa HJ001 . Designed for individual and collective use in measuring the equivalent dose rate of background ionizing radiation, beta radiation flux density, specific activity in liquid and bulk substances.
Power source: a corundum cell or an external DC power source from 4.7 to 12 V, for example, the Electronics D2-10 M power supply (in later releases of the radiometer, there is no connector for an external power source). [2]
The device was developed in the late 1980s - early 1990s at the Kiev plant them. Korolev (now OJSC Meridian named after S.P. Korolev). [3] The best and most popular household radiometer for its time, from the 1990s to the present day. It was produced at the plants: OJSC Meridian named after S.P. Koroleva (Kiev), PO Polaron (Lviv), KPSP Arsenal (Kiev), NPP Galich-M LLC (Lviv). [four]

The instrument has the option of measuring the power of the flow of beta particles , which was an advanced technology for household dosimeters of the 1990s. To measure this parameter, it was necessary to measure DER (gamma) in beta mode, then remove the metal filter cover from the rear panel and measure the flow rate of gamma and beta particles together, and then subtract manually. [7]
The device also has an audible alarm switch and a battery charge control button that displays the value of the battery voltage, which was also an advanced option for its time.
