Community - in some countries, the name of a local administrative-territorial unit , 1, 2, 3 or 4 levels. A community is usually a small administrative unit with a city or a large rural settlement as a center, around which several small villages or farms may be located. Sometimes a community forms just one locality. Close units are - commune , municipality , municipality .
Different words correspond to the Russian term “community” in different languages:
- In Slavic languages , one-root words are used: bolg. community , Serb. opshtina / opština , maced. opshtina word . občina , Slovak obce .
- In German-speaking regions, the term "community" is translated Gemeinde .
- The corresponding word in Romance languages ( fr. Commune , port. Comuna ) translates as “ commune ”, however “communities” may be called fr. communautés rurales (lit. "rural communities") in some African countries.
- In English, in many cases, the Russian community corresponds to the municipality .
- As a “community,” terms that literally mean “ parish ” can also be transmitted ( cat. Parròquia , eng. Parish , port. Freguesia ).
