The World Hacker Congress (Chaos Communication Congress) is a multi-day meeting of the international hacker scene, which is hosted by the large hacker group Chaos Computer Club in Hamburg . Numerous seminars and lectures of the congress are devoted to technical and socio-political aspects [1] .

History

Since 1984, the event is regularly held at the end of the year. The established date for its holding has long been the period from December 27 to 29. During the 2005 World Hackers Congress, this tradition was extended by one day until December 30 to offload the crowded event plan.

Everyone can attend the seminars. At the first congress of 1984, 150 people came, and already at the 29th in 2012, more than 5,000. The meetings are organized by club members, and their work is not paid [1] .
