Geography
The territory of the rural settlement, with an area of 321 km² (10.1% of the area), is located in the northeast of the Novgorod region, in the southeast of the district near the administrative border with the Vologda region ; borders:
- in the north with the territory of the Belokrest rural settlement of the Chagodoschensky district of the Vologda region ;
- in the northeast - with the territory of the Izboishchi rural settlement of the Chagodoschensky district of the Vologda region ;
- in the east - with the territory of the Lukinsky rural settlement of the Chagodoschensky district of the Vologda region ;
- in the southeast - with the territory of the Zvyaginsky rural settlement of the Khvoininsky district of the Novgorod region ;
- in the south - with the territory of the Kalininsky rural settlement of the Moshensky district of the Novgorod region ;
- in the south-west - with the territory of the Dvorishchensky rural settlement of the Khvoininsky district of the Novgorod region ;
- in the north-west - with the territory of the Minetsky rural settlement of the Khvoininsky district of the Novgorod region .
The rivers Kobozh and Levochka flow through the territory.
History
Kabozhsky rural settlement was established in accordance with the law of the Novgorod region of November 11, 2005 No. 559-OZ .

According to geneticists, the Y-chromosome haplogroup R1a-M198 - 40% prevails in the Cabozh population, followed by the haplogroups R1b-M269 - 13.3%, R1a-M458 - 11.1%, E1b1b1a1-M78 - 8.9%, N1a1a1a1a2-Z1936 - 6.7% and I1-M253 - 6.7% [9] .
