History

Russian kingdom

Rakitnoe was founded in 1652 and was named after the river of the same name. The service people of the Russian kingdom, Yelizariy Yakovlev and clerk Zinovka Markov, having traveled from the mouth of the Pena River to Bakayev’s hat, the Vorskla River and beyond, to measure the distance and determine in what places to place jails to protect the Russian lands from the raids of the Crimean Tatars, concluded: “The river Rakitna, rust, and cross the river in many places by water, ten fathoms across that river, and the water stands in lakes, and be a prison on the river Rakitne . ”

According to the order of the governor Boris Repnin, with the permission of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich , the Rakitny prison was laid. To strengthen the prison, Cossacks (Cherkasy) were sent to help Moscow service people.

Russian Empire

In the XVIII century, Rakitnoye became part of the Belgorod province , subsequently became part of the Kursk province , separated from Belgorod. The neighboring lands first belonged to the Kochubeys , and then to the associate of Peter I A.D. Menshikov . From 1728, the settlement was transferred to Prince G. D. Yusupov and until 1917 was the center for managing the estates of Princes Yusupov in the Kursk, Voronezh, Kharkov and Poltava provinces.

Civil War

During the civil war in Russia, Rakitnoe passed from hand to hand. In 1918, Rakitnoe was briefly occupied by the Prussian troops , who transferred the Rakitnoe to the hetman Skoropadsky . After the retreat of the Prussian army and the collapse of Skoropadsky, the Central Council of the UPR began to claim Rakitnoye, but in the same year it lost control over it. The forces of the Red Army took the rocket , however, already in 1919, units of the Volunteer Army of Anton Denikin entered the settlement, holding the city for almost a year. In November 1919, Rakitnoye again came under the control of the Red Army, and in February 1920 for a short period the village was occupied by detachments of Nestor Makhno , in the same year already finally knocked out by the Red Army. Since 1920, Soviet power was established in Rakitnoye.

RSFSR

At the end of the Civil War, Rakitnoye, together with other settlements of the Kursk province, became part of the RSFSR , later it was transformed into a “working village” and became part of the Kursk region . During the Great Patriotic War from October 1941 to February 1943, Rakitnoe was under German occupation. Rakitnoe was on the front line right up to the Battle of Kursk . January 6, 1954 in connection with the formation of the Belgorod region Rakitnoe was transferred from the Kursk region to the Belgorod .
