Biography
Born in 1863 in Samokov , in 1884 received a military education, participated in the Serbian-Bulgarian war of 1885 , during the First Balkan War he commanded an infantry brigade, distinguished himself in the Battle of Chataldzha . During the Second Balkan War , participated in battles in the area of Strumica . In 1914 he was awarded the rank of Major General .
With the entry of Bulgaria into the First World War, Kantardzhiev was appointed head of the rear service of the 3rd Army. In August 1916 he was appointed division commander on the Romanian front . Particularly distinguished himself in the battle of Dobrich and during the crossing of the Danube . After the surrender of Romania , Katanrdzhiev’s division was transferred to the Thessaloniki Front , where he ended the war.
The son of General Kantardzhiev is Professor Asen Kantardzhiev , the founder and leader of the ultranationalist organization Union of Warriors for Bulgaria's Progress .
