Harvest Records is a record label created by EMI in 1969 to promote progressive rock music . The label was led by Malcolm Jones and Norman Smith . In the US , label products were distributed by EMI's subsidiary, Capitol Records . The label has released records from bands such as Deep Purple , Pink Floyd , The Move , Electric Light Orchestra and Little River Band . With the beginning of the establishment of post-punk , in the form of the appearance of the rock bands Wire , The Saints and The Banned in the 70s , the label's specialization has changed a bit. Representatives of the new wave, Thomas Dolby and Duran Duran, also released their debut albums on this label. Finally, British heavy metal band Iron Maiden released their first three albums under the Harvest Records label with Capitol Records in the United States.

After Pink Floyd released The Final Cut in 1983, Harvest was only used on a few releases:

- 1999 Harvest Festival 5 CD
- 2001 Sid Barrett 's Best Songs Collection “ Wouldn't You Miss Me ”
- 2005 Patrick Duff album “Luxury Problems”
- 2005 album of The Amorphous Androgynous ( FSOL project) "Alice In Ultraworld"
- 2005 updated and expanded version of The Move 's album “Message From The Country” 1971
- 2006 compilation " It Wasn't My Idea To Dance-A Harvest Sampler "
Harvest Records no longer functions as a regular record company, however , the Harvest trademark is occasionally used by the EMI Group when the music of the artist or group matches the style of the record released by the label.
