“Viareggio” ( Italian: Football Club Esperia Viareggio ) is an Italian football club from the city of the same name, playing in the Higher Division of the Professional League , the third strongest division of the Italian Championship. It was founded in 1919 (six clubs merged - Aquila, Vigor, Giuseppe Garibaldi, Libertas, Celeritas, Esperia). Spends home games at the stadium dei Pini , which seats 4,700 spectators. Viareggio has never climbed into Serie A in its history; the club’s best achievement in Serie B was 12th in the 1935/36 season. In 2005, the team won the Amateur Cup of Italy, defeating Real Hippogrypho Sarno in the final (2: 0)
