Production History

The self-loading rifle, called Remington 1100, was manufactured by Remington in 1963 and supplanted earlier versions of self-loading rifles from the same company, for example, 11-48 and Sportsman 58 [1] .

The production of the Remington 1100 shotgun lasts until today, and the total number of self-loading rifles produced by this sample has far exceeded one million models. The total number of samples of the first model was equal to tens of pairs, for this time in the company review there are nine variations of the first version 1100.

In addition to the models for hunting various calibers and assignments, the Remington 1100 was also produced in military execution for police officers, various security services and the armed forces. Such modifications differed by a relatively short barrel , a magazine of usual or large capacity, improved sights (usually a rifle sample).

Nowadays, the military variants of the Remington 1100 are not made [1] , in the review of the company they were supplanted by the combat shotguns of the new generation: Remington 11-87 Police / Tactical.

Device

The Remington 1100 was developed on the basis of the Remington 870 pump- action shotgun, while the sliding handguard was replaced by a vapor device.

Under the barrel, near the store tube is a gas chamber. The circular gas piston is connected to the gate with two rods. Locking is carried out by a rocking larva swinging in a vertical plane, installed in the upper part of the bolt and engaging it with the stem of the stem. In this way, the barrel cavity is free, and it is possible to manufacture it from aluminum alloys. Magazine podstvolny, tubular, is charged at the store through a hole in the bottom of the receiver. The usual magazine capacity is 5 rounds, although you can make 2 more rounds by inserting a magazine extension into the advanced shotgun base. The shotgun has a slide lag that keeps the bolt in the open position when the cartridges are used up. The spring is in the butt , which does not allow to put folding butts. The reload handle is located on the right side, on the bolt. The fuse is push-button, behind the trigger, behind the trigger.

The shotgun is equipped with a box made of plastic or wood, which includes the forend and butt, with a half-pistol or pistol grip. Sights, as a rule, make up a large front sight and a standard rear sight on the barrel, or a large aperture diopter sight ( ghost ring ) on the trunk. There is a huge range of additions, such as various tactical lights, laser pointers, scopes, and so on.

Basically, the 1100 family of shotguns is a very well-known and well-executed weapon , which has a really great reputation and is still widely used both by civilians and various military organizations in most countries of the world [1] .
